About Kuari Pass
Kuari Pass, also known as the Curzon Trail, is one of the most scenic Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand. The trail passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, remote mountain campsites, and panoramic Himalayan ridgelines. The trek offers spectacular views of peaks like Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, Chaukhamba, and Trishul.

Kuari Pass Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Karchi Village to Gulling Top
- Altitude: 2,900 meters
- Trek Distance: 6 km
- Trek Duration: 4–5 hours
The trek begins from the scenic village of Karchi near Joshimath. The trail gradually climbs through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests with occasional clearings offering views of the Garhwal Himalayas. The peaceful atmosphere, mountain air, and changing landscapes make for an enjoyable first trekking day. Reach Gulling Top campsite by evening and enjoy sunset views over the surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 2: Gulling Top to Khullara Camp
- Altitude: 3,400 meters
- Trek Distance: 5 km
- Trek Duration: 4–5 hours
Today’s trail passes through dense forests and alpine clearings. As the ascent continues, the tree line slowly opens into vast Himalayan views. Peaks like Dronagiri and Chaukhamba begin appearing prominently along the route. Reach the scenic Khullara campsite surrounded by meadows and snow-clad mountains. Overnight camping.
Day 3: Khullara to Kuari Pass and return to Khullara

- Trek Distance: 10 km
- Trek Duration: 7–8 hours
Begin early for the summit day. The trail ascends gradually toward Kuari Pass through ridgelines and high-altitude meadows. Upon reaching the pass, witness one of the finest Himalayan panoramas in Uttarakhand with uninterrupted views of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Trishul, Hathi-Ghoda, and surrounding peaks. Spend time at the pass before descending back to Khullara campsite for overnight stay.
Day 4: Khullara to Karchi Village

- Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
After breakfast, descend through forests and mountain trails back toward Karchi village. Enjoy the final views of the Himalayan landscapes before concluding the trek.
