About the Trek
The Deoriatal–Chopta–Tungnath Trek is a perfect short Himalayan escape that blends forests, alpine meadows, sacred sites, and big mountain views. Deoriatal is famous for crystal-clear reflections of the Chaukhamba massif, while Chopta’s rolling meadows feel untouched and peaceful. The trail to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and onward to Chandrashila Peak offers panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, and Bandarpunch. This 4 Days / 3 Nights relaxed version is ideal for those who want to walk slowly, acclimatize well, and truly enjoy the mountains without rushing.
Day 1: Rishikesh/Haridwar to Sari Village (2,000 m)
Drive through Devprayag and Rudraprayag along the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Reach Sari Village, the base for Deoriatal. Spend the evening exploring the village, enjoying sunset views, and resting after the journey.

Day 2: Sari to Deoriatal (2,438 m) – Leisure Day at the Lake
After breakfast, start your gentle trek to Deoriatal Lake through forests and village trails. Reach the lake by midday and relax near its peaceful shores. Enjoy reflections of Chaukhamba peaks, short nature walks, photography, and birdwatching.

Overnight: Camp near Deoriatal
Day 3: Deoriatal to Chopta – Trek to Tungnath (3,680 m) – Optional Chandrashila (3,690 m)
Descend back to Sari and drive to the alpine meadows of Chopta. Begin your trek on the well-marked trail to Tungnath Temple. Those feeling energetic can continue to Chandrashila Summit for 360-degree Himalayan views. Return to Chopta by evening and relax around camp.

Day 4: Chopta to Rishikesh/Haridwar – Departure Day
Wake up to sunrise over snow peaks and open meadows. After breakfast, begin your scenic drive back to Rishikesh/Haridwar via Ukhimath and Rudraprayag, carrying back quiet Himalayan memories.
